Drymatic Following Up After Mould Cleaning
Shane Mckenna from AJ Building & Restoration | Underwood, QLD
Job of the month - March 2022
The March 2022 Job of the Month goes to Shane McKenna from AJ Building & Restoration.
This particular job is a follow up as this property had been previously dried both upstairs and downstairs due to a burst pipe from the upstairs area.
The water had gone through the timber floor, through the ceiling and down to the lower level.
This job had been sitting for a while which created some mould growth which required professional mould cleaning before the drying process could be started.
When the walls could eventually be removed there was some mould present due to the moisture sitting in the walls for so long.
The mould cleaning involved using a Husqvarna HEPA vacuum to vacuum clean all the timber frames. After that an application of Protox Hysan to clean and treat the timber for any mould.
48 hours after the Protox Hysan treatment the target drying can begin.
A number of air movers and Drymatic Boost Bars have been setup on the lower level. Drymatic Wall mats have been connected to the Boost Bars to heat up the timber frames and walls.
The target drying of the areas helps raise the energy of the surface material which in turn increases the evaporation rate, thereby drying the areas much faster.
We can see in the video that the surface temperature of the timber frames are upwards 41°C which is a great result.
A FANTASTIC JOB TO THE TEAM AT AJ BUILDING & RESTORATION!
