Drymatic heat drying to the rescue!
Malcolm Barnes – Magic Cleaning and Restoration in Townsville Qld
Job of the month April 2020
Malcom and the team from Magic Cleaning and Restoration were called to quite a mess caused by a burst water pipe from a refrigerator which was on the top floor on this double storey house spreading water across both levels of the house.
Starting upstairs in the kitchen with both hardwood flooring and ceramic tiles they brought in a combination of Drymatic Boost Bars connected to both Drymatic mats and injection kits all powered by their trusty air movers to remove the moisture from this area. By injecting hot air in through the kick panels under the kitchen cupboards this speeds up the drying process in a cavity that if not dried quickly can develop a mould problem which would create a much larger problem to fix down the track.
Downstairs was covered in a lot more water and the floor coverings including carpet in one room and floating timber flooring in the other two were removed to ensure the best chance of drying the concrete slab was achieved. Next on the equipment list was the Drymatic II to heat and dry the air in the bottom floor of the house, venting the wet to the outside of course! Add a another Drymatic Boost Bar with a 4 port kit to pipe the hot air to the underside of the upstairs flooring and a few air movers to keep that hot dry air circulating and providing the optimal conditions to quickly dry the entire area. To keep the air quality high they placed a Husqvarna Air Scrubber in the space to filter the air.
Another job completed quickly and made so much easier with the heat drying effect of Drymatic equipment.
Great work Mal and thanks for taking the time to record with voice over and then sharing this job with the group.
