The King of Heat Drying Innovation
Juvenaire Restorations, South East Queensland
Job of the month September 2020
The job of the month for September 2020 was filmed by none other than Garry Carroll himself from Drymatic Australia. Whether Garry is consulting or helping you out with equipment setup, he is always ready and eager to help out. Juvenaire Restorations had a big residential job that required some innovation in heat drying.
This water damage job started with a pipe that was leaking in the ceiling. The water had gone onto, and through, the Blackbutt hardwood floor and then the concrete slab underneath. That isn’t the end of the story though. As it continued to go along the concrete slab it went down into the cork flooring on the bottom level.
On the upper level, the edge boards were taken out on each side of the room. As the hardwood floors were on battens it allowed us to create airflow going from one side of the room to the other using the cavity between the floor and the concrete slab. One side of the room is injecting hot air with a couple of Drymatic II machines, as well as a Drymatic Boost Bar using a 12-port adapter for some extra heat. On the other side of the room we use the Drymatic II machines to exhaust the air. We effectively create a push-pull system of hot air in the floor cavity where most of the job is being done by the two Drymatic II machines.
On the lower level we also have a Drymatic II and a Boost Bar with some 3x2m Floor Mats to dry the cork flooring. We exhaust the air from the Drymatic II into another section of the room that is running an air conditioning system.
Once the floor was dry we had one of our service partners, Dave from Fusion Floors, prepare and replace the floor boards that were taken out to finish the job.
No matter what job you are on the Drymatic heat drying equipment is the innovative solution for any water damage restoration job. There are no limits to what the equipment can do, especially with a little bit of imagination.
